SCRIP
SCRIP is a nationwide gift card fundraising program. Families purchase gift cards from both national and local merchants at face value. St. Clare Catholic School buys the gift cards at a discount, and we pass the savings onto our general parish fund, religious education fund, or the school fund.
Here’s how:
• Buy SCRIP after Mass from of the 3 parish locations
• Order SCRIP online at www.shopwithscrip.com using our parish enrollment code: 6DDE588923L2
Tell the SCRIP seller to apply your purchases to one of these choices:
1. The general parish fund (all rebates go to the parish).
2. The RE fund (rebates are split 50/50 between RE and a family’s RE tuition statement).
3. The school fund (Rebates are split 50/50 between the school and the family’s tuition statement with unlimited rebate credits).
Note: All shipping and handling costs will be subtracted before the rebate amount is calculated.
Here is an example of how SCRIP works:
Suppose you purchase the following SCRIP cards:
| Vendor Total | Rebates Earned | |
| 2 BP Gas Cards @$50 | $100 (earns 2%) | $2.00 |
| 1 Olive Garden @$25 | $25 (earns 9%) | $2.25 |
| 1 Fleet Farm @$100 | $100 (earns 5%) | $5.00 |
| Total | $225 | $9.25 |
| less 10% handling fees | ||
| Total Rebates | $8.32 |
You paid $225. You get to spend $225 at these stores, and rebates earned are $8.32.
School Families The Scrip year will run from March 1 thru February 28 of the following year. The school will bill families for the balance of the fundraising fee and tuition owed as of March 1 of each current school year.
For Example: Scrip rebates earned from March 1, 2012 thru February 28, 2013 will be credited to the 2012-13 School year. The rebate credit will appear on your tuition statement.
Rebate credits are unlimited. Any rebates exceeding the tuition due will apply to the following year's tuition. Rebate amounts remaining after your last child leaves the school will be credited to the School General Fund and/or the Tuition Assistance Fund OR applied to the upcoming year’s Religious Education Program fees as stated below under “RE Families”.
RE Families The Scrip year for RE runs from July 1 thru June 30 of the following year. After the handling fees are deducted, 50% of the rebate will be applied to the family RE bill at the start of the RE year. Any remaining rebate is credited for use in the RE Program.
